*NOTE: This does not mean that I believe the Catholic Church (and Pope Benedict in particular) to be the “False Prophet” or “Beast out of the earth” referenced in Biblical eschatology. However, it’s always a possibility. And this little turn of events certainly moves said Catholic Church further in that direction ideologically than past administrations have.
