This wonk from MSNBC gets it. Monkey Boy doesn’t. Here’s the reasons why Windows tablet computers, and will continue to do so… Windows7 or not:
1. The hardware required to run Windows 7 with full graphic support isn’t thin or cool.
2. The interface was designed for a mouse, keyboard and larger screen.
3. PC multitasking is not the same as tablet multitasking.
4. There aren’t (m)any touch apps for Windows 7.

Microsoft CEO touts new Windows tablets vs iPad | Reuters
Yeaahhhhh… that’s gonna help. So I can’t help but wonder how a Windows7 tablet is going to improve over a WindowsXP tablet… seeing as how they pretty languished in mediocrity before. A desktop OS is just NOT going to cut it, dude.
I mean, the entire ‘tablet market’ was expected to max out at around 1.5 million units sold worldwide last year. And then Apple came out with the iPad and sold 3 million in 80 days.
If you treat the tablet just like a laptop in a slightly different shell, you’re going to fail. And that’s what Microsoft is doing here. And that’s what’s going to be the end result.
As my friends at MacDailyNews say:
May Steve Ballmer remain Microsoft CEO for as long at it takes.
AP INTERVIEW: Passion Play called more balanced – Yahoo! News
Story about the gradual refresh of the Oberammergau Passion Play. Several years ago, my parents went with a group from our church on a trip to Europe, including Germany, where they saw the passion play performed. Anyway, this all seemed reasonably OK to me ( the Jews didn’t create the need for Jesus’ death, they were just the ones that were used (along with Judas) to implement it) until this point:
Matthew 3:13-17 (ESV)
13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. 14 John would have prevented him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” 15 But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented. 16 And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him;17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
Matthew 27:24-26 (ESV)
24 So when Pilate saw that he was gaining nothing, but rather that a riot was beginning, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this man’s blood; see to it yourselves.” 25 And all the people answered, “His blood be on us and on our children!” 26 Then he released for them Barabbas, and having scourged Jesus, delivered him to be crucified.
Sharks sign Niittymaki from Tampa Bay
Not a bad choice. He was relatively inexpensive, salary cap-wise, so hopefully this enables the Sharks to resign Setoguchi and perhaps upgrade another forward or defenseman position.
HockeyBuzz.com – Eklund – RUMORS OF OFFER SHEETS: Antti Niemi and Bobby Ryan. LA/StL/Tor Kovalchuk
The most definitive offer sheet rumor I am hearing is that of Antti Niemi. Sources have confirmed to me the following: “There is a team out West who feels by tendering an offer sheet to Niemi they would not only help themselves, but also hurt the Hawks as well, since the Hawks are up against the Cap and would not be able to match to sign Niemi.”
Hmm… who could that team out West be?
Niemi would look good in teal. Very good.
Now if I could just figure out what the heck Doug Wilson was thinking by signing Wallin to a $2.5 Million contract…
OK, so the premise behind Evernote is a good one. It gives you a web-based notebook that syncs to various devices. It’s a great way to take notes that can be accessed from several places.
I find it extremely useful when passing information from my MacBook Pro to the Windows partition on my MacBook Pro.
As a notetaking platform, it has a tremendous amount of potential.
Except that it completely sucks.
The thing has massive bugs in it, particularly when trying to pass rich text (such as bold, italic or colored text) back and forth. For this reason, I find myself looking for reasons to us it, then dying a little on the inside when it inevitably fails miserably.
It’s free and all, but if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. And when it starts hindering you more than it helps you, you start looking for ways to replace it.
Am I confident that there’s a reasonable replacement that does what Evernote says it does without sucking? No. But I’m open to the idea.
