MMMMMMM… Mountain Dew made with sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. This review is pretty much on the money.

Had some today. Was yummy. Want more.

I think that if I was rich, I wouldn’t have a lot of really expensive fancy cars. I would probably have a bunch of less-expensive, fun cars. I know that I’ve considered some of my potential fleet:

  • My 2009 Honda Fit Sport – I really do like my car. 🙂
  • Porsche Cayman S – OK… I know it’s a bit spendy and probably doesn’t belong on this list, but I make the rules so it stays. It’s not the fastest or most über Porsche there is, but it’s a nice looking and performing ride.
  • Mini John Cooper Works Hardtop – All the cool Mini goodness, with 209 HP. Fun and quick.
  • Smart fortwo passion coupe – Neat little 2 seater. “Personal conveyance”, alá Demolition Man.

What other cars should be added to this list?

Stated: The amount of traffic I will run into on the freeway is directly to the amount of additional time I allow in order to get to work at a specific time.

Real world application: No matter what time I leave for work, I will always be late.

Here’s a few more pics of the new vehicle.

I really love driving the Fit. It’s quite responsive for having such a little engine.

So my car’s totalled after I got in an accident. Long story short, it’s totalled, I’m not. Which is much better than the other way around.

I’m not gonna be playing hockey for awhile though, probably a good 6 weeks. And I can’t really lift a whole lot.

I’m still really busy, of course. ’tis the season (aka the Trinity December Death March).

Anyway… got the new car, which I will post pictures of later. Here’s the first one though:

Lord Vader, your shuttle has arrived…

2009 Honda Fit Sport + Navi system, Manual Transmission. I wanted Blue Sensation Pearl, but that’s almost impossible to get in the manual (the car’s assembled in Japan rather than the US) so I went with Black. Looks pretty nice with the tinted windows, racing pedals and the interior ambient light kit. I have a couple more things to add on to it, but it’s a really fun car to drive. And it’s very comfortable, which makes it nice for the commute.

Anyway, off to prep for the Drive Through Nativity.

So I was at work today, walking across the street from one building to the nerdery and was just noticing what a beautiful day it was today. The sun was out, and it was warm but not too warm. And that’s when it struck me. I felt great.

For the first time that I can remember (and certainly the first time since before I was a teenager), I have had ZERO problems with allergies this year. No hay fever at all.

No sneezing, no itchy watery eyes, no congestion, runny nose, NOTHING.

Spring came and went nary a sneeze. Not even when I mowed the lawn (admittedly, I’ve been extremely lax about doing yard work this year)! I’m really not sure what caused this sudden change in my biology. I didn’t change anything, didn’t start taking anything new (although I bought Zyrtec in anticipation of the allergy fits that never came.

The only thing that was really out of the ordinary this year was my affliction with gout. I have a hard time believing that it would have anything to do with it, but I guess you never know!

Either way, this year has been a much welcome respite from my allergies. Maybe God just decided that I needed a break, to remember what it is like to not be allergic to the entire world.

It’s been nice.

SO have you ever wondered why Mushrooms and Olives are associated so strongly with each other as pizza toppings? I mean, they have practically nothing in common with each other. Mushrooms are a fungus, Olives are a fruit. They look nothing alike. They taste nothing alike.

Just one of the random bits of minutia that fuels my brain…
